What We Do

The Weaverham Trust’s mission is to promote the well being of Weaverham village by taking positive actions to enhance the natural, built and social environment. What that means is that we are committed to maintaining our natural landscape, our quality of life and the amenities and facilities within Weaverham village.

Planning
The Trust is consulted on all planning applications affecting Weaverham, and respond on behalf of the majority of residents. We’ve been involved in a number of high profile planning cases and helped to secure positive outcomes for our village and the area.

Lectures
We organise guest lectures on subjects such as planning, history and geography. There are two open meetings per year held at the Sea Scout Hall on Well Lane. Visitors and residents are most welcome to come along. Pop in, have a cup of tea, find out what’s going on and learn a little more about your village & area.

Social Events
We hold social events throughout the year including an annual quiz. As well as helping us to raise funds for the Trust, it gives members an opportunity to interact, exchange ideas and (of course) have fun! Check out our events page.

Exhibitions
The Weaverham Trust regularly holds or attends exhibitions to promote the Trust and its activities. If you see us out and about, please introduce yourself and have a chat – but we can’t promise we won’t try and tell you about the benefits of joining the Trust! The photo shows our exhibition explaining the Weaverham Greener Way project. We always have a stand at the annual Weaverham and Acton Bridge Show too, so come and say hello.

Weaverham News
The Trust collates, prints and distributes the quarterly newsletter The Weaverham News. We distribute to all households in the village and the newsletter provides updates & information about the work of the Trust, Weaverham Parish Council and all the voluntary and public bodies across the village. If you have any future events you’d like to see listed in the Weaverham News just contact us and we’ll happily include your updates. You can find out more about Weaverham News and access back issues on-line here.
